Development of Arduino Based Quadcopter

It’s so cloudy and light rain. But, that rain will never stop The Force to drive this Jedi to write a journal resume today :D

The resume for this week is a quadcopter design using arduino microcontroller. Pretty fun right? Especially if you are familiar to drone and aeromodelling.

Summary of Reported Research :
·   The quadcopter is using Arduino 1.6.5 software for the programming, and Arduino UNO with ATmega328 as its microcontroller (the main processor/”brain”), 3 cells of LiPo 11.1V battery, L3G4200D gyro, 1400kV 10T brushless DC motor, 10x4.5 propellers, ZigBee 2mW for its data communication, and F450 quadcopter frame.
·   Six-channel receiver is used for controlling aileron, elevator, throttle, rudder, aux 1, and aux 2.
·  The Electronic Speed Controller (ESC) is used to control the voltage applied to the brushless DC motor as per the PWM signals it receives from microcontroller digital pins, it need gyro input to calculate the voltage supply.
·    Solar panel can be used as an alternate source while using this product in daytime. The solar panel can make this quadcopter more efficient through solar energy while sprinkling during sunny days.
·      Quadcopter has 3 basic movements: yaw rotation, pitch rotation, roll rotation.
·      Setting the quadcopter can be done by using CRO or Arduino 1.6.5 software.
·   Module application: remote sensing application, domain of disaster monitoring (forest fire), military application, harmful gas sensing, defense security and surveillance, inspection in nuclear power plant, spy work, and pesticide sprinkling.

Strength of Reported Invention :
·      It is a cost effective and reliable quadcopter production.
·      This system is highly stabilized in windy and dusty environment.
·      It can be used for many tasks through module based approach.

Weakness of Reported Invention :
·      The battery endurance is limited.
·      It does not have frequency agility for military purpose.

·      It does not have any protection against radioactive and hazardous agents.
